Good Golly Miss Molly....

Wanted to update last night actually, but seriously besides packing and unpacking, i really really hate ironing. when i can afford it, i'm just gonna hire a maid to do all my ironing. seriously. clean the house once a week and do my ironing.

Didnt have much thoughts last week, but well i would say i do have some brief ones... i think....

Blood Diamond....

I know this movie was last year, i just watched it last Thursday nite. My verdict of the movie... awesome. it deserved all the critical acclaims and the award nominations. and i must say, that was Leonardo's best performance yet. He squared down the South African (SA) accent on the dot... yah bru? awesome. in fact i think might be watching it again just for the sake of practicing how to speak like a SA.

well here's the thing, the movie was based on true events about war torn Sierra Leone that involves diamonds as well as political uprising by the rebels in Africa around the area. so basically it's based on true events and facts. i dont really wanna spoil it for those who has not seen it, but my two cents is, the movie was so good that i felt a bit down after. i mean seriously, we whine about our daily jobs, our relationships if our significant other is loyal or not, or better yet just being annoying, or not having sufficient money coz you just spent money on spa. but the thing is, we keep forgetting, including myself here, that there are people in a much worse conditions than we are. they'd trade our life for 10 years away out of their life i think.

another sad thing is seeing how evil can human beings really be. and as for this movie, it involves 8yr old kids as well. carrying their AK47, and slaughtering a whole village including men and children without any sense of regret or remorse. It sends chill to ur spine knowing that children could be THE most evil product of mankind if properly brainwashed and drained out of all their moral value. and to do that to kids, its not that hard at all. and yet our kids crave the obesity that slowly swallows our nation.

at one point last week, i couldnt understand why, the world we live in, sometimes even same religion, like pakistan, iraq, muslims and muslims, same races, could not gather the courtesy to stop all their differences and throw away that huge ego, and eventually live harmoniously. good example, the bombing of police officers in pakistan by rebels... on awal muharram. the start of the calendar year of Islam.

isnt that what we were taught in religion? heck, even as decent human beings we could already deduce that. it aint exactly rubix cube okay? but yeah, i just cant understand that time, why did god make us this way. then a friend of mine said, well that's their challenge of which, the rewards could be later or even much later in the after life. something like that. which in the end, i think was kinda true. but it doesnt stop u from thinking, ur life's not worth living if u dont do something about it to help out with their suffering. if i was given the chance to go to africa or india, or in any war torn countries that need unicef help or something like that, i'd go. at least i'm risking my life for a much noble cause. my two cents though. rather than just sit in front of the tv, and see all the pain and say 'my god, is anyone seeing this? is anyone doing anything about it??' then after that switch to spongebob and laugh urself hysterically. the reality is, almost everyone does that, including me.

another good movie in that league, i would say... Hotel Rwanda. oh man. watch it.

is this what we want our kids to grow up with? (pic was from bbc)....

Punctuality R Us....

most people who know me, i'm almost always punctual. not perfect, but i'm almost always. but anyway, it kept me thinking, what's the point of me going to a meeting but my peers or colleagues are half an hour late when meeting is only supposed to be 1 hour? wont i be pissed if i was late for my own wedding because of others' petty problems, butang baju la konon, bla bla bla. wouldnt it be impolite to say, 'i'll be there at the coffee place to see u at 1pm' and ur friend there has been waiting till 2pm hoping to leave his laptop when u came so he could pee (never happened).

but seriously, i wonder sometimes, why cant we be thoroughly punctual? I keep hearing some people say, 'alaaa biasa la janji melayu'. BULLSHIT. throughout my life i've heard 'We're Filipinos, we're well known to be late', 'I'm Italian, Italian time is always later than the actual time', 'I'm indian, we're always late,' or 'spanish are always known to be late'.

pardon my french but FUCK that man. it's not a cultural mindset people! it's your own mindset. u need to that paradigm shift shit and tell urself u need to do this so that ur not gonna be pissing other people off. at least if u know u cant be on time, then, instead of saying the normal time at 8, make it later so that ur late is on time, u know what i mean? i dont think it's hard to be punctual. it's just having respect for another, and that self discipline that you cultivate within urself. plus, so what if other people do it, and they make you wait. at least if they start seeing this frequently, one day it could knock some sense to them to be punctual, at least to you! so please people, punctuality, is NOT a genetic problem, NOT a cultural problem, NOT something that involves constipation, NO. it involves YOU shifting your mindset. there u go. think about it.

8....

Was missing for roughly 2 weeks. got so many thoughts, pictures, and activities as well as random facts that went through my head.

First of all....

Happy New Year everyone! I bet most of you went out to see fireworks, spent time with their gfs/bfs, bbq with family, clubbing, all that cool stuff. oh oh, what'd i do?? okay here's the thing, on new year's day i had to go back to Sarawak already, which meant that New Year's Eve was already not in the best of mood for me. My friend asked me out to club, but i was just not in the best of mood. so, instead of going out, i had dinner with my family at home, just a normal dinner, then sat and watch tv in my tshirt in kain pelikat, my dad fell asleep, my mom was flipping channels, and as they say, like father like son, i slept at 930. yes... that's my 31st December. just didnt want to think anymore. was having such a nice nice break from all of it, and the fact that im gonna be shoved back to reality, wasnt the best thing ever for me.

New Year's resolution?? well i'm just sick of all the qualitative resolution 'i wanna be a nice person', 'i wanna be free of stress', 'i wanna be likeable' all that shit. so, decided to go to more quantitative and i would say, more reasonable. here goes...

1. Go To New Zealand
2. Force at least 2 McGiff to come to KK (aiming for Abe and Todi)
3. Retake my Scuba Diving license
4. Own a pair of Zara's 2 piece suit
5. Own Bob Marley's album - Legend (i've wanted this album since waaay before I am Legend)
6. Own a pair of Dolce and Gabbana Shades (well this one isnt the top priority)
7. Do at least 3 charity that doesnt include organizational help. must come from self. UNLESS the charity involves me going to another country in distress.

I wanna make it up until 10, but so far i only have 7. i'm not gonna put going to japan as well coz that'll just be stupidly expensive. as long as im not featured in Forbes most money making blog writers of Asia top 100, then just forget about it.

What's yours?

Atie gilerrrss....

atie giler... i know you're having fun and texting all the cool things you're doing there in San Fran for new years, i just wanna wish you a very happy happy happy happy 24th bday!! dah tua siyot. tuaaa tuuuaa tuaaaa tuaaaa (like those annoying kindergarten kids who make fun of ppl). miss you loads, thanks for having my back since we knew each other. really, thanks. besides the McGiffs, you're the other person that i would say be damn cool to hang out with. peluk peluk, cium cium....

i dont have any more pictures of us, usually it's always your camera the last time you were here. we should take pictures together more often.

I'm a Cowboy....

my final year of study, i was wearing my cowboy hat, vintage tees, and sports jacket. didnt know it's now in fashion. and what's cooler now, plaid shirts are in. i only have one, and plaid shirts, with shorts and sandals. kick ass cool. adds to coolness with aviator shades. so yes... besides my addiction to vintage tees and polos, plaid shirts are now an addition. it's a touch of formality and casuality at the simultaneously.

New Year's with a Bang....

As i mentioned, yes, my NYs was such bore. but last week, so many things happened.

1. Oil is now $100 per barrel. i dont know how would most people react to that. BBC mentioned earlier this week how this independent trader bought the maximum amount an independent can buy, AAAND purposely bought it more than $98 or $99 at that time. he bought it for $100 and lost $600, BUT he doesnt care. all he wanted to claim was to be able to tell his grandchildren that he is THE first man who bought oil at $100pb. just because of one dude, he tipped the whole jar of milk which probably made the whole world fairly either pissed at him or just amazed with his amazing sheer selfish stupidity. Personally, i think it's just a matter of time till Malaysia's gas prices are hitched again. if it's RM1.92 ke RM1.98 per liter now, i'd estimate it to be RM2.10 soon. I dont know how Malaysians are gonna handle that, but hey, it's gonna happen.

2. Last Thursday Benazir Bhutto, the two time former prime minister of Pakistan was shot twice by a suicide bomber and then blew himself up to smithereens. Lately watching news was just too sucky for me. everyday someone's murdered by drunk driving, by some sick twisted child molester (oh whom which, i hope will be paralyzed and stoned to the death)or by kid who's only 10 year old and completely savagely murder their lady classmate. Anyway, Bilawal Bhutto, Benazir's son was thinking of taking over his late mom's cause in Pakistan as the leader of the Pakistan People's Party. See, here's the question, how is he going to capture the hearts of his people if he's never really grew up in Pakistan? He doesnt understand the first hand of the people's hard living IN Pakistan. How they struggled in their fight for justice, democracy and especially peace. this boy, who's much younger than i am, is in his peak of his teen life, and has only been exposed to a high profile lifestyle. well let's disregard the lifestyle, just the fact that he's almost never in Pakistan. it's like having me run for Chief Minister of Sabah, but my whole life i've been in Semenanjung and US. doesnt seem so right i think. BUT then again, it's never ever too late to learn about where your roots come from. NEVER. be that you're already 30, 40, 60, NEVER. If i were given the opportunity to meet any of my distant relatives in Philippines, i would without any hesitation.

3. On NYs eve, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, Health Minister of Malaysia was shown the whole world... well yes... i dont know how to continue... he was really SHOWN to the whole world every aspect of his erm... physical life. but anyhoo, I have total respect for the guy. gentlemen, and admitting the fact that he was guilty. Personally, again.. i'm stressing this, PERSONALLY, i dont think he should resign especially, if he was regarded as a good leader. yes, he is now tainted, but the culprits who did that went into his total personal life, an invasion of privacy. Datuk Seri should do what Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson, or like every other big people in this world do, sue these people for public defamation for millions. MILLIONS. Since malaysia is really looking for a way to curb down porn distribution, especially MALAY porn, this is definitely one of the ways. like that idiot guy who tipped the whole jar and caused the oil $100pb market, Datuk Seri could tip the whole jar and cause less public defamation in malaysia. intrusion of privacy. yes, the stupid people who took the video of themselves doing it should first of all STOP doing it, but if they did it anyway, it IS theirs and it belongs to them. so, sue those people who stole it and distributed it. why? coz dude, you're practically a celebrity. Amazingly, people who put these movies or pics on youtube are malays as well. havent they realized, that doing this is called humiliating another person? dont know what to call it in english, 'menyebarkan aib manusia'. and people are hurt in the process. this same goes for those hatred emails 'fitnah' emails about some people using emails. and those stupid idiots who keep continuing to forward it. do they realize, that it's wrong? it is just wrong even in religion? hey, again, im not the most religious person, but just wanted to mention this coz some people forget. so, Datuk Seri, if you're reading this, you ARE the man, you proved you ARE a man (in so many different ways), you're a normal human, and dude, sue the culprits. you have my vote.

It's called flushing people!?

okay, so here's the thing. during my break, i spent most of my time walking around chilling out in malls in KK (yes, Kota Kinabalu has malls, and some of them are even muchos awesomos than KL). Now here's the thing, luckily during my stay i havent really HAD to go to the public toilet to do a number 2, to those who dont know what's a #2, it's defecating. well anyway, here's the thing, i think this is an issue that has been pointed out since waaay before i was born. the cleanliness of public toilets is such a BIG issue. strangely enough, we're the fastest growing country in southeast asia. could even be asia. the thing is, if it's at some bad malls like Pertama Complex, or Sg Wang (but i think Sg Wang's standard is already up there), i dont really mind... of course at a limit la. kotor pun has it's limit. if it looks like a restroom from a horror movie, NOPES, im not even gonna pass by the toilet.

so here's the thing, these dirty messed up toilets happen even in KLCC, a Malaysian Tourist Hub! Now why's that? well so far, i think, the best public toilet's i've been in (besides hotels), is some parts in One Utama, Damansara. The Curve, where it's THE cool place to chillout, NO. probably one of THE worst public toilets for these kinda places. with puke everywhere especially at nites, oh dear god. it's just bad. really REALLY bad. even the nice malls in KK, like warisan mall. they practically charge you 50cents to go in, and yet, the quality is just slightly better than The Curve. that's not a compliment.

How to tackle this supposedly unsolvable problem? again, be a DO-er. do your part. start flushing. guys, AIM when you pee. lagi nak mengada nak main paintball. if you dont know how to pee dont claim you're good at paintball. and yes, most of the malaysian way of 'cleaning' their 'assets' is using water. well, it's not that hard to keep it dry and clean. do it IN the bowl! you dont have to SPRAY it out! people, it's common sense. be a DO-er.

Suave and smooth on the ladies....

okay, so here's the thing. I think me and the guys have been trying to figure out the best way to get a number from a very hot lady since we hit puberty. well, i think it's every men's quest in figuring out what's the best way to approach a lady without getting 'whateverrrrr' or 'ey, tolong la k?' or 'uh pleeeaaaase', or 'eleh, perasaaaaan', or just a jelingan maut OR 'pfffbtt'. u know that sound a lady's annoyed. like a sound she's letting out some steam from her brain or stomach or something. i guess it's a substitute for farting. but anyway, im not a big fan of approaching ladies in clubs. seriously. why?

1. it's TOO loud. i could imagine a conversation rite now.
Guy: HEY! I'M ANDY! WHAT A LARGE CROWD TONIGHT HUH?
Lady: HI! I'M JESS. THERE'S A LARGE COW TONITE? WHERE?
Guy: WHERE? OH! YOU WANNA DANCE AT THE DANCE FLOOR?
Lady: OH YOU MEAN THAT FAT LADY AT THE DANCE FLOOR?
Guy: YEAAAH
Lady: THAT'S A HE. HE'S MY BOYFRIEND ACTUALLY. HE'LL KICK YOUR ASS IF YOU START GRABBING ME.
Guy: YOU WANT ME TO GRAB YOUR ASS! THIS IS THE BEST NITE EVER!!!

yes... next thing you know the guy's bashed into a pulp by a whole thug of fat men with boobs.

2. i dont think it's a really nice place to approach ladies. it's just too... hmmm. well basically you dont wanna tell your kids you met their mom in a club while other men grab her.

3. too many people looking at you. if you get rejected, you're automatically rejected by every women in the club. everyone's gonna laugh at you. hahaha. one of those people are people like me. HAHAHAHA. i'm so mean.

but here's the thing, i decided to do ONE, just ONE experiment on my way out. saw this one cute girl, wrote my number, and shook her hand with my number on it on my way out. results... BZZZZZZ. doesnt work. hahaha. maybe if i stayed it could be different. hahaha. but naaah, im done experimenting. i prefer meeting people my friends introduce me to. chill out with them at a nice coffee place, a bookstore, or a mall while you just walk and talk and figuring out each other. better, and more comfortable. plus, you dont look sleazy.

well... that's a good long entry. have fun reading it.

here are some nice pics during the holidays and some old paintball pics.

These are the pics during my first paintball experience during raya holidays.

Geared up and good to go

Running out to the left flank giving some backup....

I'm a runner... what else can i say. Lieutenant Spears Reporting Sir!

I think i got shot on this one. hahaha.

These are the latest one during Winter holidays (chewah... winter konon). treated my loving sister for her bday.

Nadia showing off her 'muscle'....

Women of the Abu Sayyaff group....

Discussing stratgey... Group Leader siyoot... i'm the one in black with that 'leader' hand going on... hahah. i make myself sick.

The Socialites... this pic is nice coz it's taken from a bunker. snapped by one of the cool marshals from KKPC

That's me in the shorts... playing paintball with shorts is really cool coz you can run easily. but it's not cool if you get shot on the calves. but i wasnt shot on the claves, but i did get bad scratches. sliding with shorts isn't cool. especially if there's rumput semalu on the ground. yeaah... ouch. cant remember what's rumput semalu's scientific name. i dont think it's mimosa pudica rite? hahahah. that's mint rite?

at this point, i was thinking, 'hey, it's a regeneration game. i get shot, im back alive. might as well i just run and find out where's my opponent rite?'.

i think people think im crazy. i ran, got shot, and laughed my ass off like there's no tomorrow when i was shot.

both me and my sis were shot....

re-organizing to drop the bomb....

Saw the chance... and there i go....

Touchdown... damn tired though....

Roma Victor... while Nadia thinks she's cute doing it....

Hate Love Relationship....

Sumandak Paintballin....

My third day of paintballin. but this time we're doing it in the woods of Malaysia. woke up in the morning at my cousin's resort and jogged. Saw these horseshoe crab or belangkas in malay. i thought it was sweet that they're together all the time. one of the marshals was a marine biologist and she said it's a 99% chance for people to see the horseshoe crabs in pair. the female is always the largest one. so, i thought they were sweet together, and left them alone till it's high tide. bad option. next thing i know, this kadazan-dusun guy saw them, screamed 'uinah! belangkas! MAAKAAAAAN!'. damn i felt sucky for not picking them up and place them in the ocean.

when they swim, the female will always on the bottom while the male attach himself on top. that's 'hard' working male. see women? it's proof. hehehe. it was kinda sad seeing the male move slowly alone into the ocean when i dropped him off. lonely soldier boy.

Well apparently, the guys only bbqued the female coz only she has the eggs. yes, being sad as i were, i was still curious. tasted it a bit. seriously, nothing much to it. it tastes just like crabs. the guys say 'boleh buat pening2 sikit'. but i dont think so. the big hooplah about eating the belangkas was just that it looks so prehistoric and it's hard to find. yes, they say they have a medicinal value. some research say it could cure cancer. but actually, that's only the blood. btw... the blood's blue in color. cool huh? very alien-ish. so you take the blood instead of the meat. i mentioned about the taste to guy who suggested to eat the belangkas, but he just dismissed the idea. oh well, i tried. next time i know what to do though.

woodsball (paintball played in the woods) after... taking picture while looking up on the side NEVER gets old huh?

Old kampung cat at my cousin's resort. his name is Si Tua. Old lazy cat. but still cool though...

Lunch on Christmas day at Karambunai resort. a really nice resort.

We think we're the wonder siblings....

I like to stand between these things and pretend im a giant....

seriously... karambunai is a Sabah resort... but you dont really see much locals around! again... nice resort. you can ask Lana, Helos, and Amin who had their honeymoon there. I've never stayed there yet though.

aaand we went durian hunting after....

you wanna see some magic? i think this is hilarious... part 1 was the best....
